Who I Am

My name is Alyssa Garcia. I’m a 17 year old indie-pop singer-songwriter and pianist. I’ve been playing piano since I was five. I started playing gigs and writing songs at 11.  I grew up here & the Philadelphia music scene has definitley started to influece my music and has allowed me to gig and grow as a performer. I currently have two self-produced albums out now: Music is my Life + Memories & New Beginnings & a professionally recorded EP: Looking Glass. Currently, I’m a junior at Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford.

Music has always been a substantial part of my life and my sole passion. As a music artist, I'm lucky enough to have grown up with a love of music & music education. It has become a crucial part of who I am. My original songs are pretty much my diary put to music. As a songwriter, I write about my life experiences and what I am passionate about. I believe it’s so important to be able to speak our minds and freely express ourselves without judgement, no matter our passion.

Some fun facts about me; I'm a pretty big geek if you will. I'm really into the MarveI and DC Universes. I love reading. I'm also very immersed in some of my favorite authors' (John Green, Rainbow Rowell, Veronica Roth, etc.) books. Writing is a big part of my life. Aside from writing songs, I write poetry, books, and short stories. Besides that, my favorite TV shows are probably Supernatural, Doctor Who, Daredevil, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Lost, the Flash and a few other series. (I spend way too much time on Netflix)

So, that's a little bit about me.
